Attila Várkonyi is among the most prominent angel investors in Hungary in the fields of IT, biotech, and medical technology. He is the co-founder and Chairman of FastVentures, the Hungarian venture capital firm, where he plays a significant role in supporting the developmental success of early-stage tech companies. Between 1991 and 1993 Attila Várkonyi was director of product development, later pre-sales director of SAP. Since 2000, Attila has been an active business angelas co-owner of FastVentures in the fields of ICT and biotechnology. His portfolio companies have successfully been selling their products and services in the international markets and several have reached exit phase in Europe or in thethe United States. Attila is the founder of the Bolyai Award, an award for achievements in science created on civil initiative.
Chairman of the Board
From 1996 to 1999 he served as the founder and managing director of a legal and business consultancy firm, where he participated in carrying out high-tech investments. Since 1999, he has been serving as the CEO and President, as well as principal owner, of SOLVO Biotechnology, which was established as a startup and has grown into a global biotech firm with 100+ employees. Since 2003 to present day, he has been serving as a founding member and President of the Hungarian Biotechnology Association. Ernő Duda has planned and carried out several rounds of angel- and venture capital investments; he has built international management teams and set up a subsidiary in the United States.

Kamilla Szandrocha spent 7 years in the promotion of investment opportunities in Hungary for foreign investors. During this time she acted as an advisor and decision committee member foreconomic development programs. She participated in the management of several large investment projects and the transformation of the Hungarian investment promotion agency into a one-stop-shop agency, which was later ranked as the most efficient agency in the region. Since 2011 she has been the managing director of Central European Investment Services, a startup active in capital transactions and incubation. She is a founding member and operative director of Aquincum Incubator since 2013.

Gábor Garai is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Hungary and HonoraryForeign EconomicAdvisor to Hungary. He has more than 30 years of experience in providing services in the area of business law and is a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP. He is chair of the firm’s Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice and co-chair of the Life Sciences Team. Prior to joining Foley & Lardner, he was the managing partner of Epstein Becker & Green in Boston. His main areas of expertise are startups, capital investment opportunities for high-growth potential businesses, and venture capital transactions. Furthermore, his otherrelevantareasof expertise include M&A-s,mergers, public andprivatefinancings, and intellectualpropertyissues. Gábor Garai is an active member of the business community in Boston, and was part of TechStars (accelerator in Cambridge) and the MIT Venture mentor program in Massachusetts. He is also co-founder and supporter ofMassChallange, a business competition accelerator and incubator.
